Held at The Factory Atlanta, Burnaway’s Art Crush draws connections between the 2019 Lunar New Year and barbecue with the theme “Year of the Pig” Artist Jiha Moon will serve as the event’s Honorary Chair, while drag performers Taylor Alxndr and Mystery Meat, fixtures of Atlanta’s underground nightlife scene, will serve as emcees for the evening. Known for her eclectic blend of vintage international dance music, DJ Yoon Nam will provide the party’s soundtrack, and mixologist Navarro Carr of The Sound Table will craft signature Art Crush cocktails.

This year’s silent artwork auction features a highly curated selection of works by emerging and established artists with ties to the American South. Many of these artists are working across the South, while others are native Southerners who are making their mark outside of the region in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. In the weeks leading up to Art Crush, BA will use its editorial platform to (re)acquaint readers with some of these artists and their work.
