The 2023 LUXURY LIVING SHOW reached exceptional heights with a showcase of today’s kitchen, bath, and outdoor design trends
It’s no secret that Ryan DeCesaro of Morgan Creek Cabinetry is a highly skilled veteran in the kitchen and design industry. Inspired by the desire to craft a sophisticated, yet relaxed space to entertain, DeCesaro delivered a luxe kitchen complete with unique workings for the 2023 Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Luxury Living Show at Phipps Plaza.
“I particularly love the kitchen’s features,” says DeCesaro. “Specifically the rustic charm of weathered barn wood, the harmonious interplay between the vertical planking of the backsplash and the cabinetry’s lines, and the calming ambience created by the natural white oak.” While walnut was used for the cabinetry, reclaimed white oak created a durable canvas for a variety of functional features. Several drawer organizers from Rev-A-Shelf, including built-in utensil dividers, plate organizers, and a designated place to hide your paper towels, add function to the hardworking kitchen.
Appliances, such as a set of double ovens with push-open doors, a large farmhouse sink, and a Wolf gas cooktop, keep the kitchen future-forward while staying true to the original design concept. A sleek quartz countertop anchors the exposed shelving, which allows for extra cabinet space to spotlight dishware and accessories. Behind the sink, a veined quartz backsplash, fabricated by A Touch of Stone, Inc., adds extra verve.
“When it comes to materials and finishes, a kitchen can transcend the confines of a one- or two-dimensional design,” says DeCesaro. “The key is to ensure that the chosen elements complement each other—harmonizing seamlessly with the overall architectural aesthetic of the space.”

Complete with curvaceous lines, a vanity and its waterfall quartz countertop provided just the right amount of drama in the 2023 Luxury Living Show’s sleek bathroom display. Michael Bell, president of Bell Cabinetry & Design, notes that the inspiration behind the design stems from his desire to fuse luxury and functionality. “We wanted the vanity to embrace a furniture-like piece, while also pushing the limits of creativity on the countertop design.” And it was unique, indeed, thanks to A Touch of Stone, Inc.’s unparalleled countertop fabrication, which was a fan-favorite during the run of show. Adding a pop of color to the overall neutral palette, the cabinetry was swathed in a blue high-gloss finish paint. Enclosed within the vanity is an assembly of walnut drawers—a subtle yet moody addition to the overall vibe of the space. And thanks to another innovative design feature, a pair of mirrors appear as though they are floating above the double vanity sinks. Outfitted with brass accents, a freestanding Lido tub from Hydro Systems’ Metro Collection is the epitome of rest and relaxation. What else could you desire in a bathroom?

Outdoor living continues to be all the rage in the South, and landscape architect Lucinda Bray of Floralis has her finger on the pulse. “We’ve had a lot of clients recently ask for a clean, contemporary look to their landscape,” says Bray. “In this vein, we decided to run with that and give it a bit of a playful nature.” Anchoring the charcoal and steel-colored FireRock pavers, woven planters filled with lush plantings intermix with the stylish furnishings selected by designer Joey Butler of Joey B Collection & Design. “The aim was to create a space that not only complemented the landscape, but also offered comfort and functionality,” says Butler. “I always like to consider the needs and lifestyle of every homeowner—ensuring that the outdoor furnishings are not just aesthetically pleasing but also practical and inviting.” Collaborating with The European Company, Bray imagined a checkered-pattern artificial turf area complete with a mini putting green—ideal for alfresco entertaining. And with the latest lineup of outdoor grills and appliances by Middleby, there was no shortage of luxury in the verdant space.
