The freshest trends in kitchen, bath and outdoor design were on display at the 2019 Luxury Living Show at Phipps Plaza. Here, AH&L takes a closer look

Presented by Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles and held at Phipps Plaza in Buckhead, the 10th annual Luxury Living Show a provided a hands-on showcase of the latest high-end products in kitchen, bath and outdoor. Featuring a Dream Kitchen by Kingdom Woodworks, a Dream Bath by Schuon Kitchens and Baths, Inc. and an Outdoor Living Display by Floralis Garden Design in partnership with Southern Gentry Homes and Guy Gunter Home, this year’s displays were a study in smart solutions, inspiring designs and cutting-edge developments.
Streamlined Statement
For the 2019 Luxury Living Show kitchen display, Kingdom Woodworks’ Marcel Olariu channeled “an American Bistro look.” Playing into the desired aesthetic are elements such as white subway tile backsplashes with white oak floating shelves and polished nickel strapping on a streamlined rectangular hood.
“The whole composition was rectilinear from top to bottom,” Olariu notes. A bold black honed quartzite island countertop with sharp edges and black steel-and-glass cabinet doors contribute to the masculine feel. Brass light fixtures and LED lighting solutions inside the cabinets add warmth while an oversized range completes the bistro-style effect.

“This is a workhorse kitchen for the 21st century user,” KINGDOM WOODWORKS’ Olariu says, and, accordingly, he loaded the island with drawer storage and tailored inserts to foster efficient use and flow for food prep. A master at mixing color and metal accents, he punctuated the gray cabinets with polished nickel pulls and hood strapping.

Bold Bathroom Details
A Marvel Gold porcelain backdrop by Techlam through Levantina created a glam statement as a feature wall in this bathroom vignette designed by Roswell-based firm SCHUON KITCHENS AND BATHS. “We wanted to create a space that was open, comfortable and that someone could envision in their home,” says Marc Tyson, a Schuon designer. A wall-mount Brizo faucet presides over bright blue Mouser cabinetry topped by a white Compac quartz countertop for a clean-lined feel. A pair of armoire-like cabinets play off the warmth of the Marvel Gold veining, while an oversized mirror adds presence.
Stand-Alone Statements
Schuon Kitchens and Baths designed two separate areas to showcase a stand-alone shower and freestanding tub employing the same stement stoneclad surface, Techlam through Levantina, as the vanity wall. Daltile flooring in a warm hue anchors the spaces; a generous tub by MTI is given pride of place.

Inviting Outdoor Oasis
Floralis Garden Design layered textures and shapes for a fresh and inviting outdoor kitchen and living area display. A Hartstone paving grid and artificial turf helped define the space, while a living plant wall and lush container plantings provided a sense of softness. “Sustainable, low-maintenance landscapes with clean lines and less ornamentation are main design trends that we are seeing in our current residential projects,” says Floralis Garden Design’s Lucinda Bray. “We strive to combine different forms, fine and bold textures, leaf and bloom shapes, to create a space that is truly inviting, while also intriguing.” Mission accomplished.
