Trend Talk: 2026 Southeastern Designer Showhouse
From show-stopping mantels to pattern pairings, discover the top trends of the 2026 Southeastern Designer Showhouse

Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles’ 2026 Southeastern Designer Showhouse debuted in Sandy Spring’s Chastain Park neighborhood. The newly constructed residence was brought to life by Linda MacArthur Architect, Floralis Garden Design, interior specifications designer Claudia Stimmel, and builder and presenting sponsor Hask Custom Homes. The 11th annual Designer Showhouse benefits Solidarity Sandy Springs, a food pantry serving overlooked families in the community.
With 21 designer firms and nearly 13,000 square feet, the Showhouse is truly a group effort comprising a variety of styles, colors, and tastes. Despite the differences in background and experience of the designers, a few trends emerged.
Color Craze
Neutral no more—color is here to stay! Monochromatic white rooms and boring beige spaces are a thing of the past. The 2026 Southeastern Designer Showhouse is a master class in lived-in, cheery color. Designed by Claudia Stimmel with Bell Cabinetry through Construction Resources, the kitchen—often the easiest space to fall into a neutral trap—is alive with green cabinetry and sparkling hardware. The cabinetry lacquer in the kitchen and scullery changes color based on the time of day—looking green in some lights while more mocha in others.
Pattern Perfect
Big, bold pattern is on full display! Whimsical wallcoverings and surprise patterned ceilings dot the showhouse with intrigue. In the dining room by Helen Hanavich with Bungalow Classic, the walls are a work of art in themselves. Hand-sewn onsite and installed on scaffolding across two weeks, a glimpse of the custom upholstered walls by B Bridges are worth the price of admission alone. In the Sinclair Ochre print, a nearby banquet blends into its surroundings and offers a comfy cocktail perch for after-dinner lounging. Lauren Lowe’s chic primary bedroom is a delightful floral immersion. The Charlotte Johnstone Mawar wallcovering from Soane Britain mingles with statement making floral chairs, and the mix just feels right.
Built-In Beauty
Custom, intentional details shine bright in this year’s showhouse. In the Living Room by Kim Mauney, built-in marble-topped shelves prove small details can often be most impactful. Nearby in the primary bathroom, reeded vanities bring a sophisticated edge to the already dreamy bathroom atmosphere. And around back, integrated appliances blend seamlessly in the outdoor kitchen by Design Galleria Kitchen and Bath.
Wellness Kick
Health is wealth—it might be trite, but it’s true. From an exercise room with a row machine and even mini trampoline to a full blown spa sanctuary, the Showhouse takes wellness to a whole new level. Past the spa doors, discover a cold plunge tub from Hydro Systems and a sauna from Somewhere South Sauna and Cellar. Nearby, a golf simulator from Southern Simulator with over 10,000 courses makes staying active fun.
More is More
Maximalism is welcome here! Spaces are best enjoyed when personality shines through, so don’t hide your collections or hobbies. From a lively Mahjong table to impressive art collection and vibrant wallcovering, Isabel Ladd’s upstairs lounge is the most fun you’ll have in a showhouse. In Bedroom #3 designed by Bowdre Longo, a gorgeous gallery wall holds court over a printed sofa, allowing your eyes to discover something new everywhere they look. Bedroom #1 by Layton Campbell is a true feast for the eyes with gorgeous patterned walls and pink banquet and silk embroidered dramatic drapery.
Through the Looking Glass
Bold, statement making glass is having a moment. Inside the In-Laws Suite bathroom by UpCountry Home, scalloped shower doors add a dash of whimsy to mundane tasks and routine. Designed by Meredith McKenzie, the primary bathroom stuns with an arched, oversize single panel shower door. Glamorous glass continues outside to the pool, where guests sitting at the firepit have unobstructed views of splashing swimmers.
Honorable Mention
We would be remiss not to recognize the swoon-worthy hardware, marvelous mantels, fabulous drapery, stunning fixtures, and scattering of antique gems throughout the home.
