Decorating with pumpkins

I’m a sucker for seasonal decorations. Since there’s finally starting to be a little crispness in the air, I think my anticipation for fall decorating is finally ready to take life. I do always cringe at that person (and we all know one) who puts decorations up 3 months too early and leaves them up 3 months too late, but without being that person, I think there’s nothing greater then a few cheery reminders to celebrate the season! My festive fall go-to for sprucing up the house for autumn: pumpkins! And no, I don’t mean just carving a jack-o-lantern for the front porch.

Here are a few examples of how to tastefully celebrate fall with one of its most symbolic natural elements.

Pumpkins come in all shapes, sizes, and colors, and  love how this display stacked pumpkins of the same shape but different sizes and colors. This simple arrangement could be a perfect display for the porch or vacant table space.

I’m  really favoring white pumpkins this year. Both naturally white, or if you’re feeling crafty, painted and decorated white.

Makeover your mantle by lining up white pumpkins to add so much with such simplicity! If this doesn’t make you ready to cozy up for fall, I don’t know what could!

Here’s another “keep it simple” decorating idea. Just find a spare bowl or tray for this easy arrangement.

This wreath of white pumpkins and pistachios around a candle makes for a perfect centerpiece. I might have to try my hand and making one of my own!

I love the contrast of the white against those beautiful potted mums. I’d die for my house to have this darling front stoop! But, since I’m all about pumpkins right now, I might trade out that corn husk wreath, for this one made with miniature pumpkins, squashes and gourds:

I’ve already seen countless (and darling) pumpkin patches all over the Atlanta area calling my name. If you’re like me, you’ll get out and grab some pumpkins while the pickin’s good, and get to decorating. It’s not too early, I promise!
