Spring Forward

Savvy Style Marty Mason has demonstrated his uber savviness by opening a third location of the high-end consignment store, Savvy Snoot, in East Cobb’s Merchant’s Walk. The Marietta Savvy Snoot is adjacent to his latest brainchild, Marty Mason Collected Home, which features the all-new Marty Mason collection. The collection is inspired by years of Savvy Snoot’s designer vignettes that combine consignment and new furnishings from all styles and periods.  “It’s a new version of the wildly popular consignment store,” says Mason. “The design work we’ve always done, with choice pieces available through the collection.” 1311 Johnson Ferry Rd., Marietta 30068. Old & New Great minds think alike, proven by the proprietors of the recently opened Chovan Designs and Summer Loftin Antiques. But while Theresa Chovan and Summer Loftin have similar tastes in design, their specialties are different. Chovan’s experience lies in interior design and management (think Pierre Deux) while Loftin’s is more about antiques—importing them, finding them and selling them (think Scott Antique Market). “We work well together and have the right personality chemistry,” says Chovan of their smooth transition to business partners. “Plus, we balance each other out experience-wise.”

In addition to design services, customers will find a heavenly array of 18th- and 19th-century European pieces as well as Mid-Century Modern wares. Because items run the gamut from furniture and lamps to glassware and porcelain, prices follow suit. 715 Miami Circle, Atlanta 30324. (404) 816-8494; summerloftinantiques.com

Going West At first glance, there is nothing about Peridot West reminiscent of the original location—a charming little house in Buckhead; the store’s new incarnation has proven that it can easily adapt to a world of industrial warehouses. Set in the Westside shopping district that includes Bungalow Classic, Jonathan Adler, Kolo Collection and Anthropologie, Peridot West carries many of the same lines as Peridot. “They feel different and the focuses are different,” explains owner Dina Woodruff. “Buckhead concentrates on gifts, handbags and frames, plus it has sections for children’s toys and outdoor entertaining, while the Westside has more antiques, rugs, furniture, lamps and mirrors.” 1183 Howell Mill Rd., Atlanta 30318.
