French Revival
French-American restaurant BRASSICA captures food aficionados’ hearts—and taste buds—across the city
Tucked inside the Waldorf Astoria in Buckhead is the chic new restaurant Brassica. With executive chef Christophe Le Métayer and director of operations for Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Christopher Guidice at the helm, Brassica provides a Southern twist on traditional French cuisine.
“Brassica weaves together brasserie-style French cooking with regionally sourced ingredients, drawing culinary inspiration from Georgia and the American South,” says Guidice.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Brassica is the perfect blend of homecookin’ flair and classic French fare. “Having lived in Atlanta for over 20 years, I’m happy to showcase Southern cuisine without forgetting my French heritage,” says Le Métayer. “We’re bringing together the familiar with unexpected components to present a very unique dining experience to our guests.”
Separated into three distinct spaces, Peacock Alley, Brassica and Solarium, the restaurant offers several unique atmospheres under one brand. As you enter the establishment, the Peacock Alley lounge prompts guests to take a seat at the coveted bar to sip on an array of craft cocktails. Just after the bar, guests are ushered into the main dining area, Brassica, where cozy furnishings under an installation of dogwood branches perfectly match the sophistication of menu items like yellow corn bisque, pecan rainbow trout and cast-iron steak frites. Concluding the restaurant, the Solarium—another seating area—greets you with a light and airy aura compared to its more moody dining counterparts.
“BHDM Design drew inspiration from Atlanta’s reputation as a ‘city within the forest’ for a contemporary space that melds Neoclassical designs with floral motifs for a glowing and enchanting environment,” says Guidice.
Indeed, dining at Brassica is truly a culinary adventure. From the intricate interiors to the aromatic cocktails and French-American dishes, this establishment tops the list of must-try dining destinations hitting Atlanta.
“Our service is focused on creating memorable experiences,” says Le Métayer. “We are always asking ourselves how we can personalize our restaurant to engage the guest. We want every visit to feel tailor-made.”
