Dressed for Success

Luxury and high-end contemporary fashion brands are proving to be bright spots in the retail industry, with sales volumes for both categories growing. One local beneficiary of this trend is Jamestown-owned Buckhead Village, whose gross sales activity per square foot is one of the highest in the company’s portfolio. Property-wide sales are up 44.8% against 2019, and leasing is robust, with Jenni Kayne and Brown & Co. Jewelers having recently joined the property’s successful lineup of tenants. “Today’s retail climate demands that communities like Buckhead Village offer a wholistic and thoughtful menu of retail merchandise and services,” says John Wilson, director at Jamestown. “At Buckhead Village, we continue to attract a mix of contemporary and independent retailers and restaurants, in addition to modern luxury brands as part of our long-term plans for the property.” Events and amenities not often seen in retail environments, such as a dog park and a German Christkindl Christmas market, are also helping to drive growth, Wilson says. “Buckhead Village’s open-air layout, accessibility, dynamic restaurant scene, and robust events programming have helped to increase foot traffic. We believe these factors, coupled with favorable consumer spending trends for select retail sectors, have translated to improved sales.”
