Mark Your Calendars: The 2014 Cashiers Designer Showhouse Opens this Month!
One of our favorite ways to usher in the fall season is with the Cashiers Designer Showhouse, which takes place annually at the end of August. Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles is once again the proud media sponsor of the event, which benefits the Cashiers Historical Society, and you can find the official program with driving directions, ticketing information and more in our August 2014 issue.
This year’s event will be held Saturday, August 23–Sunday, August 31, at Hilliard House, a home set on 29 sprawling acres in Cashiers’ Timber Ridge community and overlooking Whiteside Mountain. More than 25 talented designers and landscapers will put their stamp on the house, including Atlanta’s own Carole Weaks, Amy D. Morris, Barbara Heath, Patricia McLean, Gretchen Edwards and Maria McLaurin Nutt.
One of the highlights of this year’s showhouse is the personal appearance of special guest Nina Campbell, the renowned British designer and international tour de force. On August 23, Campbell will give an exclusive presentation and book signing sponsored by The Atlanta Decorative Arts Center at the Country Club of Sapphire Valley (tickets are limited); open seating tickets run $125 and reserved seating costs $150. Find ticketing information here.
Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles will be on hand to help kick off the event on Friday, August 22, at the always festive Opening Gala ($250 per person; includes parking and transportation) featuring music by Liquid Pleasure and tasty bites from Lee Epting.
Tickets to the showhouse are $35 per person, including parking and transportation, and can be purchased here. Between taking in the views and marveling over designs, guests can also shop and snack at pop-up shops offering antiques, crafts, clothing, accessories and food.
