When architect Bill Ingram began looking for office space in Atlanta nearly three years ago to serve his local clients, he was pleased to discover that ADAC would be opening up a portion of its highly coveted real estate to launch a limited number of Design Studios. One of those clients was Danielle Rollins, and the two got along so well, they debuted their joint business venture, Rollins Ingram, in 2014, and moved to ADAC earlier this spring.

A windowless but open box with high ceilings and exposed painted concrete overhead, the layout prompted Rollins to paint the walls in Ralph Lauren Reservoir Blue, which not only allows the narrow space room to breathe, but also furnishings like the Saarinen table and glossy white desks to shine. The pair accentuated that crisp color contrast with sumptuous texture, in the form of sisal floors, a rattan globe pendant, and Thibaut grasscloth, while framed renderings of Ingram’s recent projects and an abstract by William McLure round out the casual-chic space.

Design at Work: This shared ADAC Design Studios space accommodates roomy workspaces for two as well as a client meeting area and storage wall for fabric swatches. Both intuitively drawn to the water, Rollins and Ingram employed the rich nautical hue, Ralph Lauren Reservoir Blue, to be equal parts soothing and energizing—“our version of industrial meets the beach,” says Rollins. Ingram concurs: “This office reflects our combined causal signature aesthetic using crisp blue and white, natural rattan, raffia and chrome,” he says. “All of this works together to give off a breezy summer vibe year-round—important for a windowless space!” A fully stocked bar completes the gracious feel.
