Take it Away
Who says that pandemic-appropriate design can’t be inspiring? Three Taverns Imaginarium at Atlanta Dairies opened in October and the to-go window and outdoor seating were primed to welcome guests in a safe, comfortable way. “The goal of the yard and the brewery’s relationship to it is to promote community—pandemic or not,” says Square Feet Studio’s Carolyn Balfour, the project’s lead interior designer. Other eateries have had the same idea. Chef Pano Karatassos of Kyma engaged designer Oliver Carter to create an expanded indoor-outdoor ouzo bar and new outdoor garden dining area, and Chattahoochee Food Works owner Robert Montwaid designed the Pomodoro Bella stall, opening later this month, to include a walk-up window for contactless ordering of pizzas and pasta.
