Philip T. Shutze Awards
The Southeast chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA) celebrated excellence in design with its annual Philip Trammell Shutze awards. Held at the Piedmont Driving Club, the ICAA honored 10 regional design professionals in the categories of residential, commercial, civic and landscape architecture as well as interior design, restoration and emerging professional.
Celebrating our Authors
The Institute of Classical Architecture & Art Southeast Chapter invited guests to the Piedmont Driving Club for its “Celebrating Our Authors” event, a luncheon and panel discussion featuring four of today’s leading architects and designers who are advancing the appreciation of traditional architecture and art: Beth Webb, Peter Pennoyer, Richard Keith Langham and William Curtis.
Moonlight & Magnolias
Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles kicked off the Southeastern Designer Showhouse & Gardens with a celebratory opening party, Moonlight & Magnolias. Guests enjoyed food and cocktails catered by Soiree along with a first look at the showhouse, which was designed by Harrison Design and built by Sheehan Built Homes. Proceeds from the showhouse benefitted the Atlanta History Center.
Sunday Supper at Serenbe
The first Sunday Supper at Serenbe, benefiting The Giving Kitchen, kicked off on October 15 with seasonal fare from the chefs of the Ford Fry family of restaurants (Beetlecat, King + Duke, JCT Kitchen, Marcel, No. 246, The Optimist, Superica and St. Cecilia). Guests gathered in the Pavilion at Serenbe and enjoyed an autumn afternoon complete with gourmet fare, twinkly lights, live music from the Kristina Murray Band, a bonfire, s’mores and cocktails.
Frontgate Grand Opening
Frontgate debuted its new location in Phipps Plaza with an elegant evening complete with live music by OK Cello, gourmet bites, signature cocktails and a Champagne sabering. Attendees had the first opportunity to shop the 19,000-square-foot showroom, and the evening benefitted Dwell With Dignity.
An Expressive Evening
Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA)’s Text Me: How We Live in Language kicked off in September with an opening night party featuring light bites, word games, music by DJ Dookie Platters, fortune telling and a temporary tattoo booth. Guests had the chance to mingle with the artists and Debbie Millman, the show’s curator, while getting a first peek at the exhibition, on view through February 4.
Moonlight & Mistletoe 2017
Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles celebrated the 2017 Home for the Holidays Designer Showhouse, benefiting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, at its annual opening night party, Moonlight & Mistletoe. The evening kicked off with a toast to honorary showhouse chair, John Oetgen, and guests had the chance to mingle with designers and enjoy a first look at the showhouse.
A Night of Design
To celebrate this year’s spring showhouse, Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles hosted the Southeastern Designer Showhouse & Gardens kick-off party. Participating designers gathered at Design Galleria Kitchen & Bath Studio to toast Honorary Chair Jackye Lanham and this year’s beneficiary, the Atlanta History Center.
