Dwell with Dignity
This time of year, “home” tends to take on loaded meaning. There’s something about celebrating the holidays with family and friends that compels us to go into overdrive, whether we’re looking to entertain 12 for the ultimate Thanksgiving feast, or travel hundreds of miles to spend quality time with loved ones from afar.
Home, after all, is our safe place. It’s where we both unwind and connect, where we rest and where we find rejuvenation. And design certainly plays a starring role in our personal sanctuaries.
Functional pieces—pieces with character that are comfortable and meaningful—not only help nurture creativity but also inspire the soul, and that’s where an organization like the Dallas-based Dwell with Dignity comes into play.
Dwell with Dignity’s goal: to bring good design to those less fortunate—in this case, families who are transitioning out of homelessness and into self-sufficiency. Dwell with Dignity teams up with local agencies to transform what could be cold and impersonal transitional housing into bona fide dream homes that help inspire its inhabitants to maintain a standard of living they can be proud of—and thrive in.
Learn how you can help add meaning to “home” for those in need.
