December 1-7: Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles’ 2014 Home for the Holidays Designer Showhouse rings in the holidays with an English Arts and Crafts–style showhouse on Habersham Road. Through December 7, guests can tour the stone-and-brick home, which showcases the work of the city’s leading design-industry talents. Proceeds benefit the Southeastern Horticultural Society. December 1-16: Celebrate the season with Christmas at Callanwolde. Elaborately decorated for the holidays by Atlanta-area interior and floral designers, the 27,000 square foot Gothic-Tudor style mansion plays host to themed events, professional holiday displays, seasonal workshops, home tours, an artist’s market and more. callanwolde.org/christmas-at-callanwolde

December 1-23: Get into the holiday spirit with The Ritz-Carlton’s long-standing tradition, Tea with Santa. Enjoy a formal tea service complete with musical entertainment, a visit from Santa and caroling by the Dickens Singers. $59 per person. ritzcarlton.com

December 1-30: Lifestyle and home design authority Mandy Kellogg Rye’s beloved online boutique, Waiting on Martha, debuts a holiday pop-up shop in the Shops Around Lenox. Featuring a curated selection of home, gift, men’s, women’s and children’s items, customers will be able to browse the shop and purchase merchandise previously only available through the online boutique. December 5-26: Enjoy live music, meet the artists and find festive gifts at Holidays at dk Gallery, a small-works show running every Friday through Christmas at dk Gallery. December 6-7: The Virginia-Highland Tour Of Homes kicks off its 20th year. Showcasing one of Atlanta’s most charming and historic neighborhoods, the tour features seven homes that reflect the distinctive tastes of area homeowners. December 11-28: The Fox Theatre presents Atlanta Ballet’s Nutcracker, a local holiday staple. This time-honored classic captures the audience, transporting them into a world of mischievous mice, candy cane castles and dancing gingerbread children. atlantaballet.com

December 14: Seven Lamps celebrates its second anniversary with the Cotton Ball, a seven-course meal with wine and cocktails, prepared by chef Drew Van Leuvan and a curated group of iconic chefs including Hugh Acheson, Bruce Logue and Guy Wong. Seven Lamps’ Kevin Bragg will be crafting cocktails along with bar talents including Michael Searles, Kellie Thorne and Tiffanie Barriere.
