March 18 Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles hosts “Fresh Take: The New Traditional,” our fourth-annual Reader Day at ADAC. Bringing the magazine to life, the day-long design event features book signings, showroom presentations and a panel discussion with lifestyle experts such as interior designer Barbara Westbrook, architect Jim Strickland of Historical Concepts, designer Matthew Quinn of Design Galleria Kitchen and Bath Studio and chef Kevin Gillespie. adacatlanta.com/events
March 21 The Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia (MOCA GA) hosts the MOCA GALA Art Auction in its recently expanded gallery on Bennett Street. Featuring Atlanta art enthusiast, lawyer and MOCA GALA auctioneer Jim Landon as honorary chair, the event will center on live and silent auctions with works created by an invitation-only group of local artists. The auction celebrates contemporary art while raising funds to support MOCA GA’s programs, exhibitions, permanent collection and archives. Tickets are $150. mocaga.org
March 23 Check out the latest in luxury home furnishings and accessories at the Noah J & Co. trunk show. The show will feature products from Beautycounter, jewelry from Kristin Meredith Jewelry Design and works in clay from Bates Pottery. Noah J & Co, located on Buckhead’s East Andrews Drive, will host guests from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the trunk show. noahj.co
March 25 Promising to serve up wine, art, food and a little Southern charm, the High Museum Atlanta Wine Auction raises their glass to another year. As the largest fundraising event for the High Museum of Art and the top charity wine auction benefiting the arts, the Wine Auction has garnered attention nationwide and is a vital part of the Museum’s exhibit and education plan. March 26 Steve McKenzie’s celebrates spring with a solo show for abstract painter Britt Bass Turner. Known for her colorful patterns and rich textures, Turner’s works convey a message of playfulness, beauty and authenticity. March 26 ASID Georgia and Serenbe have partnered together to put on Art for the Farm, an art auction featuring works by local members of the interior design community, Atlanta artists and more. The evening will include cocktails, light bites and a live and silent auction. March 28 The Junior League of Atlanta kicks off their 18th annual Tour of Kitchens, a two-day event featuring 14 of Atlanta’s best residential kitchens created by the city’s top designers. The self-guided tour includes culinary demonstrations from local chefs in select homes throughout the weekend, and all proceeds go toward community initiatives benefiting at-risk women and children. March 28 Join the owners of local art gallery Brawny Laddies for an intimate pop-up show hosted at a private home in Old Fourth Ward. Brawny Laddies founders and longtime Atlanta artists Doug Braun and James Wall will debut their latest art works and handcrafted pillows, and light bites and wine will be served.
