April 28-May 2: The Atlanta Decorative Arts Center is partnering with Vernada magazine to present Design ADAC, a highly anticipated week of entertaining events and panel discussions that encompass interior design, lifestyle and new industry trends. April 30: The inaugural Sundown Series at Westside Provisions District kicks off with an evening of art, music and food. From 5-10 p.m. guests will enjoy pop-up shops, dining specials, live music and a film, courtesy of the Atlanta Film Festival, at sundown in the alley across from Lulelemon (chairs provided). May 1-May 3: Billy Reid‘s special three-day Made to Measure event offers an exclusive curated selection of fabrics from the Spring ’14 Men’s Collection. May 2: Lance Jackson and David Ecton of Parker Kennedly Living stop by the Decorators’ Show House at 1:30 p.m. for a special talk on repurposing antiques. More info here.
May 2-4: The 2014 Druid Hills Tour of Homes celebrates the historic neighborhood’s design evolution through a self-guided tour of homes and gardens. New this year: a series of discussions with noted experts such as architect Frank Neely and landscaper Eric King and Holly Brooks. The three-day tour will also feature an artist and pottery market at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center. The Callonwolde estate will also be open to ticket holders for the duration of the home tour. May 3: South City Kitchen in Vinings hosts its annual Kentucky Derby Viewing Party from 5-7 p.m. In addition to classic Derby libations, guests will feast on a variety of southern-style bites including Kentucky burgoo croquettes, pickled shrimp and Benedictine profiteroles and pimento cheese. $25 per person. May 3: For those in Buckhead, Southern Art is also hosting a Kentucky Derby Viewing Party from 3-7 p.m. Held on the terrace, guests will enjoy southern canapes (think cucumber-and-bourbon cured smoked salmon and duck confit bites) along with beer, cocktails and mint juleps. The Atlanta Bluegrass trio will perform throughout the afternoon. More info here.
