May-October: Atlanta Botanical Garden has added nine new characters to its larger-than-life Imaginary Worlds exhibit. Look for four frogs in the Conservation Bog, three gorillas in Storza Woods and a pair of orangutans in the Perennial Garden.  
 
May 5:  A group show shining a spotlight on the City of Lights through whimsical interpretations of Parisian landmarks opens at Anne Irwin Fine Art
 
 May 8: Bungalow Classic hosts a special showcase featuring artist Susan Hable’s newest collection. From 4-7 p.m., enjoy gourmet street food by Yumbii food truck, milkshakes from Bocado and a meet and greet with the Athens, GA-based artist. 
 
May 8: Share of Strength presents the 26th annual Taste of the Nation Atlanta at the Georgia Aquarium. Sample dishes from more than 50 local restaurants and meet local culinary celebs Kevin Rathbun, Linton Hopkins, Ann Quatrano and Kevin Gillespie. The evening also features a rare wine auction.  
 
May 8: Sample the cuisine from more than 40 restaurants at Taste of Alpharetta. Admission is complimentary. 
 
May 9: Blackberry Farm jams, cheeses, meats and other products from the popular Tennessee farm make their official launch on the shelves of three Atlanta Whole Foods–Sandy Springs, Ponce and West Paces Ferry. 
 
May 10-11: A longstanding local Mother’s Day tradition, this year’s weekend-long Gardens for Connoisseurs Tour hosted by the Atlanta Botanical Garden spotlights 11 professionally designed metro Atlanta gardens in a range of styles. More info here. 
 
May 10-11: The Buckhead Spring Arts Festival features crafts from 175 artists, live acoustic music and food vendors in Chastain Park. 
 
May 11: A special Mother’s Day Supper at Woodfire Grill features an one-day only three-course menu, in addition to the eatery’s usual a la carte menu. Selections include wild black cod casserole, Ratatouille pot pie and cinnamon peach streusel.
