In celebration of MA’s 9th annual Design is Human Atlanta WeekAH&L editor in chief Elizabeth Ralls will host a discussion on June 2 from 6–8 p.m. at Room & Board on the role of design in Atlanta’s burgeoning film industry. The panel will feature local experts Stephanie Howard (photographer and location scout for Meyler & Company) Jeffrey Pratt Gordon (production designer on MTV’s Finding Carter) and Dan Campbell (original homeowner of the house in the film “Million Dollar Arm”). Indie Craft Experience celebrates its 10th birthday this month with its summer Craft Market on June 6–7 (Find co-founder Christy Petterson in our 2015 10 Under 40). Held in a new location at Georgia Freight Depot, the market will feature 100 craft and vintage vendors; local food purveyors such as King of Pops, Wanderlust Coffee, Atomic Ice Cream Sandwich and the Deli at Candler Park Market; and music from DJ Zano. Join creative coworking space Foster Atlanta for its pop-up marketplace, In Good Company, on June 12–14. Held at the Foster Atlanta headquarters, the three-day market will feature a curated selection of local makers, artisans and shops, including MaleuGreat Bear Wax Co.and Lord & Lady. Steve McKenzie’s hosts an opening reception for artist Kristen Ley of Thimblepress on June 4 from 6-9 p.m. On June 6 from 9-11 a.m., Ley will join Steve mcKenzie in hosting a “Kick Start Your Creativity” session that encourages guests to expand their creative horizons. In anticipation of its return  to Midtown at Tech Square on September 25-27,Taste of Atlanta is hosting exclusive “Pop-Up” ticket sales at 10 local restaurants on Friday, June 5 from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. The first 50 people to arrive at each location will receive one presale pass, which includes an access code for two tickets each with 10 taste points, for $20 (normally $54). The code must be redeemed online by 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 6. View the list of participating restaurants here.

After a successful run during the winter’s flurry of holiday shopping, Mandy Kellog Rye of Waiting on Martha‘s pop-up shop is back in business at the Shops Around Lenox. Packed with much of the same merchandise as the  online shop, the Buckhead storefront offers a selection of carefully curated gifts, furniture, accessories, clothing, paper and bath goods.
